Birth Does Not End When the Baby is Born
This course explores childbirth in the United States, and how it has an affect on the parenting experience that follows. Through reading, viewing, writing and doing class participants will gain an understanding on the impact of the childbirth experience on the MotherBaby, partner and family.
Your Instructor
I am Betsy Schwartz, pioneer and a visionary. In 1994 I established Tenth Month Doula Services, the first of its kind in South Florida. My most recent accomplishment is the creation and publication of Down the Canal – The Game of Birth. My website Birth in the Know has a wealth of information. I am a former board member of the Florida Breastfeeding Coalition, and a founding member of the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services. My master’s degree is in management of human services. My 27+ year career has been in being a postpartum doula, and training many. In 2012 I became a Reiki practitioner, and since then a Reiki Master. My newest hobbies are drumming and Dragonboat racing.
